"I applaud the Entrepreneurs Impact Summit for going beyond 'raising awareness' and 'doing well by doing good.' With Washington so broken, we need entrepreneurs to step forward and exercise the true power they have right now to spark and scale innovations that can confront the greatest challenges we face."
– Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti
In order to participate in the Entrepreneurs Impact Summit (EIS), every attendee must make a Commitment to Social Impact. EIS Commitments must be:
New
An EIS Commitment to Action must present a new idea or approach that has social impact – for example, on: climate change, gender equality, affordable housing, water, etc. While ongoing work is not eligible, an expansion of a successful program can qualify as a valid EIS Commitment.
Specific
An EIS commitment must outline a specific approach to address the area of human need; have clear, feasible objectives to be accomplished within a defined period of time; and articulate the desired outcome of the effort.
Measurable
An EIS Commitment must have specific quantitative or qualitative goals that can be monitored by the commitment-maker to evaluate progress over time. As each commitment is implemented, annual progress is reported to EIS to show the extent of its impact.

"By most objective measures the world is heading in a very dangerous direction, particularly as it relates to climate change,” said Christine Harada, President of i(x) investments. “We need to unleash the creativity of entrepreneurs to help solve these challenges.”
